Driving back from Central Texas today, I wondered why all the flags were at half staff. I always get an ominous feeling when I can't figure out why the flags have been lowered. I thought perhaps Ronald Reagan had died. He did. When you're in elementary school, the president seems larger than life. And before I forgot what Reagan meant to the nation after Watergate, Vietnam and the hostage crisis, I re-read about his life.
